About of Author

Joycelyn M. Pollock is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Criminal Justice at Texas State University. She received her Ph.D. in criminal justice from the State University of New York at Albany in 1989. 

Pollock has authored numerous publications, including textbooks, on the subject of criminal justice. Her research interests include ethics in criminal justice, women and crime, and capital punishment. Pollock has received various awards and recognitions for her contributions to the field of criminal justice, including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Division of Critical Criminology and Social Justice of the American Society of Criminology. She is also a fellow of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences.
